Norfolk highway works completed two weeks early

Danaher & Walsh has completed a challenging highway works project near Cromer, Norfolk, two weeks ahead of schedule.

A new roundabout was constructed on the busy A148 road at Felbrigg after years of campaigning by local stakeholders.

An innovative funding model was used for the scheme, with cash provided from numerous sources, including Norfolk County Council, National Trust, New Anglia LEP, local parish councils and several local businesses.

Martin Wilby, Chairman of the Norfolk County Council’s Environment, Transport and Development Committee said: “It was great to see how the local community came together deliver a local priority.

“And I’m sure many users of the road will have already appreciated the great job our contractor Danaher & Walsh did by finishing the roundabout two weeks ahead of schedule.”

The works involved constructing a new roundabout on a busy, live road. Almost a kilometre of new kerbing was laid, 180m of new drainage and nine soakaways installed and 4,020m2 of asphalt surfacing laid.
