Mill Lane & The Gateway scheme wins ProCon & LJCC Awards

Danaher & Walsh's Mill Lane & The Gateway Public Realm scheme carried out for De Montfort University and Leicester City Council has won two prestigious awards.

The £2m scheme has been named as winner in the Small Non-Residential category at the ProCon Awards, Leicestershire's biggest celebration of the built environment and the people who develop, design and construct developments.

The award was presented at a sell-out gala dinner on Thursday 9th November 2017 at the King Power Stadium, Leicester, following a rigorous, multi-stage judging process.

Danaher & Walsh has also been presented with an LJCC Merit Award Certificate for Craftsmanship for the scheme at the Leicestershire Construction Awards. The LJCC (Local Joint Consultative Committee) Merit Awards recognise outstanding levels of quality in the construction industry.

Additionally, the scheme was a runner-up in the Excellence in Cycling & Walking category at the National Transport Awards, as well as the Project of the Year category at the CECA Midlands Awards.

The Mill Lane & The Gateway scheme involved major regeneration to the Mill Lane area of Leicester, providing a revitalised campus environment for the university and an attractive, safe thoroughfare for pedestrians and cyclists. The works were completed the spring of 2017.
