D&W selects Parkinson's UK as charity of the year

Danaher & Walsh has chosen Parkinson's UK as its charity of the year.

The charity was selected by staff by a company-wide poll. It was nominated by D&W's Steve Douglas, whose wife Genna suffers from early-onset Parkinson's Disease.

Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition in which the brain does not produce enough dopamine. This results in symptoms such as shaking, muscle stiffness and lack of mobility.

Affecting around 145,000 people in the UK, Parkinson's Disease is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.

Parkinson’s UK is dedicated to both providing practical support for Parkinson’s sufferers and funding vital research towards finding treatments for the condition and, ultimately, a cure.
