D&W commences work on new St Margaret's Bus Station
Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering has been appointed by main contractor Morgan Sindall to undertake highway and public realm works relating to the construction of the new St Margaret's Bus Station in Leicester.
Morgan Sindall has been appointed by Leicester City Council to undertake a £13.5m scheme to construct a landmark new bus station in place of the now demolished former building.
The project will also see the creation of more attractive routes for pedestrians and cyclists as part of a major programme to revamp Leicester's city centre.
The new, energy-efficient bus station will feature increased service capacity, enhanced amenities and charging points for electric buses.
Danaher & Walsh has been appointed to carry out the highway and public realm works, which will see improvements to footways and roads in the vicinity of the bus station.
The highway works include improvements to junctions and the installation of new, safer crossings. Hard landscaping works and tree planting will help give the area a fresh, new look.
Morgan Sindall and Danaher & Walsh have worked closely together on numerous previous projects, including the nearby improvement works to Vaughan Way and Great Central Street.
