D&W achieves Carbon Reduce Gold standard
Danaher & Walsh has achieved Achilles Carbon Reduce Gold greenhouse gas emissions measurement and control standard.
The Carbon Reduce scheme (formerly CEMARS) is the UK’s only accredited greenhouse gas certification scheme in accordance with the internationally-recognised ISO 14064-1 standards. Achilles operates in scheme in the UK under licence to New Zealand-based Toitū Envirocare.
The scheme provides certified organisations a framework within which to measure, manage and report carbon emissions.
Danaher & Walsh first achieved CEMARS certification in 2016. The new Gold certification recognises five consecutive years of meeting the requirements of the scheme and demonstrating a credible carbon reduction action plan.
Speaking about achieving Gold standard, Danaher & Walsh's SHEQ Manager Sue Southam said: "The Carbon Reduce scheme challenges us to think hard about our operations and how they impact the environment.
"Now, more than ever, it is important to take steps to reduce our carbon emissions wherever we can."
