Contract awards point to busy year ahead
Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering's order book has been buoyed by a number of recent contract awards, securing significant future workload.
D&W has been given the go-ahead by Leicester City Council to begin planning for two related major schemes via the Maintenance of Highway Structures term contract.
The two schemes, with a combined value of around £2.5m, involve major maintenance works to a bridge on Abbey Park Road, Leicester, and the construction of a brand new footbridge.
Works are soon to commence in the Cambridgeshire village of Manea, where D&W will be constructing a new car park adjacent to Manea railway station on behalf of Fenland District Council.
Elsewhere in Cambridgeshire, D&W continues to work closely with Milestone Infrastructure - previously Skanska Infrastructure - on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council. Recent contract awards include another phase of highway improvements to the A1307 south-east of Cambridge and construction of a new trail on Coldham's Common in the city.
In Hardingstone, Northampton, Section 278 highway works are being carried out behalf of Kier Living as part of a new residential development.
Section 278 highway works are also due to take place in Stamford, Lincolnshire, for a new Aldi store. Meanwhile, works are already underway in Taverham, Norwich, for major junction improvements and construction of an access road related to the construction of a new Lidl store.
Nearby in Suffolk, D&W will be carrying out foul drainage works at a service station on the A11 at Barton Mills near Mildenhall.
