Key aims and challenges

The development is located on the site of the former Cadley Hill Colliery, which ceased deep coal mining in 1988 and operated as an opencast mine until 1997

Danaher & Walsh constructed approximately 275m of new roads and pavements along with drainage, which was connected to the existing main sewer. The new road was connected to an existing roundabout.

A cut and fill method was used, utilising existing Type 1 material, reducing the volume of imported material required for construction.

Danaher & Walsh subsequently negotiated a contract to carry out a second phases of works, effectively doubling the size of the business park.
