Key aims and challenges

In order to reduce the risk of flooding on and around the A429 Stratford Road in Warwick, the Fishers Brook water course was widened to increase drainage capacity.

Two large culverts on Stratford Road and Leafield Farm Lane were demolished and rebuilt as part of the scheme. Traffic management was put in place to ensure the busy A429 remained open for the duration of the works.

How did we do?

Danaher & Walsh devised an innovative temporary works solution and implemented full two-way traffic signalised control, meaning the Stratford Road culvert could be installed in two sections and the road remaining open for the duration of the works.

All major services traversed the construction site and consequently had to be diverted. All well as working closely with Warwickshire County Council, close liaison was required with local homeowners affected by the proximity of the works.
