Key aims and challenges
An entrance to the site was constructed across the existing footway, which involved full diversion of all major statutory undertakers' equipment. An existing pedestrian crossing was upgraded to a signal-controlled puffin crossing.
How did we do?
We utilised our extensive experience of Section 278 works to coordinate the numerous statutory undertakers against extremely tight deadlines. With pressure mounting to open the new store, we were able to suggest an alternative engineering solution that successfully enabled the construction programme to be accelerated and the works expedited.
