Key aims and challenges

As well as constantly updating their housing units, Wellingborough Homes have been embarking on programmes of Environmental Improvements, which comprise external works to their housing estates.

Their aim is to make the external areas of their estates safer and more pleasant for residents. Initiatives such as demolishing disused garages and lowering brick walls have opened up spaces, making them more welcoming and less of a magnet for crime and anti-social behaviour.

Soft and hard landscaping, including the laying of attractive paving and the creation of terraced gardens, have created pleasant areas for residents to enjoy for years to come.

How did we do?

Working in close proximity to residential properties required us work with sensitivity and to liaise closely with residents to minimise disruption.

By being able to maintain relative consistency of the site team over various phases, our staff have been able to build relationships with the client and tenants in order to balance the commercial prerogatives of the projects with the day-to-day needs of the residents.
