Key aims and challenges
Existing asphalt surfacing and footway construction was broken out. High quality granite paving was installed along with resin-bound decorative surfacing.
Other hard landscaping features constructed and installed include seating, planters and a custom-built circular bench. The completed scheme included retaining a number of existing mature trees; care had to be taken to protect these trees during the course of the works.
The works took place in a confined area, and provisions had to made to ensure that nearby businesses were able to continue trading without interruption.
