Cycle Network Link

About the project

As part of a wider ongoing scheme to make cycling around the University of Warwick's main campus easier and safer, this shared footway and cycleway was constructed to link up to the Cryfield Sports Pavillion. The route forms part of the Sustrans Connect2 network.

Key aims and challenges

A 400m cycle path was constructed, comprising tarmacadam surfacing, concrete edgings and drainage. Solar lights were installed to gently illuminate the track for cyclist and pedestrians.

How did we do?

The project was delivered swifty and to the university's satisfaction.

Works were paused for one week midway through construction to accommodate an international football tournament that was taking place on adjacent playing fields.

Works were securely fenced-off, leaving the area safe for the event.

From the client...

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Danaher & Walsh (Civil Engineering) Ltd for the way in which they conducted themselves throughout the construction of the Cycle Network Link project for the University.

We were particularly pleased with how the scheme was implemented and managed on site, and are also very happy with the end product. We couldn't speak more highly of Danaher & Walsh.
