Danaher & Walsh’s latest apprentice achieves top marks

Liam Charles of Danaher & Walsh has just completed his NVQ Level 2 in Construction General Operations at Stephenson College in Coalville. Liam’s achievement is particularly impressive as he was the first person to complete his coursework and showed absolute commitment to his studies with an excellent attendance record.

Before joining Danaher & Walsh, Liam studied at Countersthorpe College and decided that a career in Civil Engineering was for him. Liam knew of the industry as his father comes from a similar background, having worked with the company over a number of years. From the age of seven Liam has shown an interest and a passion for Civil Engineering and has always taken every opportunity to help his father whenever possible.

Liam stated “I’d like to thank Danaher & Walsh for giving me this opportunity; I like all aspects of the job even the cold weather!”

Ian Gilbert, Contracts Manager at Danaher & Walsh said “As an accredited Investor in People, we recognise the importance of apprenticeships in our business and actively encourage the recruitment of apprentices from within our operating area. We have found that our investment is rewarded with loyal, self motivated and well trained individuals. We are delighted at the success of Liam in passing his apprenticeship, which is testament to the hard work and dedication he has shown over the last two years”

Following on from this latest success, Danaher & Walsh are now actively looking to recruit locally based apprentices for the start of the next academic year.
